FRANK LA MACCHIA
WHY THE MUSIC?
We all have a special song that reminds us of a significant event or time in our life. Music is a powerful way of reconnecting with memories and the emotions that go with them.
Music impacts our lives in a significant way, it can move us to cry, to sing to dance, to remember to forget. Music transcends barriers and has the power to unite people of diverse culture, religion and gender in times of great tragedy and in times of joy.
Music Director, Frank La Macchia and Vocalist Lisa Worley have been deliberate in their selection of musicians who will perform on Melbourne Inspiration Day. They understand and support the purpose of the day and are proud to be performing music that will bring magic and authentic expression to the event.
The Melbourne Inspiration Day Musicians have carefully chosen songs that will touch people, songs with powerful messages that align with each story told.
Our theme song, Touch by Noiseworks delivers one of the key messages of the day. The inspiring stories will be told in the hope to 'reach out and touch somebody.'
Another example is the song “You are the Universe” which has three clear messages, Be the driver not the passenger in life, If you can conceive it you can achieve it and you are the universe, which I believe means that there is an amazing part of us that is far greater than our mind tells us
The way Frank and I met was no coincidence. I don't believe in them.
We share a love of music, of AND we share our birthday! A few years apart but also quite a "coincidence"......groove, of connection and conversation.
I am so Excited that the Melbourne Inspiration day is finally happening because it’s been a part of our music discussion for years. And the day to me is all about connection, with ourselves and with others.
I love that we are performing songs with positive and uplifting messages. I’m a big believer of the power of the word and the power of music and sound resonance to really reach deep within. Sometimes in an unconscious way. I also find it cathartic for myself to sing these songs from this perspective.
I'm really looking forward to us all sharing music and stories on the day and have no doubt it will touch all people different ways but all with lifted spirits." Lisa Worley
